Journey Cancels Fall Tour With Cheap Trick
It appears that Journey has canceled their upcoming UK and Ireland tour that they planned to launch this fall, which would have also featured support from Cheap Trick.
The news of the cancellation came via a statement sent to ticketholders. It read, "Due to circumstances beyond the band's control, Journey's UK and Ireland tour is unfortunately canceled. Refunds will be made from your point of purchase."
Slipknot Party Like It's 1999 With Here Comes The Pain Tour Launch
Slipknot's Here Comes The Pain Tour is here. The tour, which celebrates the heavy titans and cultural phenomenon's 25th anniversary of their seminal debut album, Slipknot, kicked off with a sold-out performance in Indiana last night. The band jumped straight back to 1999 with set opener "(sic)."
Other highlights from the set list included the classic "Wait & Bleed", "Liberate", "Surfacing" and more. Fans have been rabidly awaiting what songs the band would play, with no info posted by the band in advance. Last night's capacity crowd, and the internet's reaction immediately after, signaled that fans were ecstatic and that these would be shows to remember, a modern Slipknot tour unlike any other.
Motley Crue's Nikki Sixx Reacts To Aerosmith's Surprise Retirement
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx took to social media on Tuesday (August 6th) to pay tribute to Aerosmith, following the legendary band's surprise announcement last week that they have retired from touring due to Steven Tyler's vocal injury.
Sixx wrote, "In 1973, a fifteen-year-old kid named Frank Feranna walked into a record store alone and emerged with the first Aerosmith album in hand. I would carry that album with me everywhere, including to friends' houses, confessing to them that this was the future of rock 'n' roll."
The Get Up Kids today released their first-ever music video for "Ten Minutes," the dynamic, fan-favorite single from the 25th anniversary reissue of the Kansas City band's genre-defining sophomore LP, Something to Write Home About (due out digitally on August 23rd and physically on September 20th via Polyvinyl Record Co). Directed by longtime friend and scene peer Josh Berwanger (The Anniversary), the "Ten Minutes" video lovingly assembles rare archival live footage of DIY shows, posters, photos, and other ephemera from the era.
The remastered single is also out now alongside its auspicious demo version that showcases the song's sturdy, road-tested origins. "When I wrote the opening guitar riff for 'Ten Minutes,' my inspiration was the song 'Do the Vampire' by Superdrag. It's pretty obvious once you know. Their album, Head Trip in Every Key, was on heavy rotation when we were writing Something to Write Home About," says songwriter/guitarist/singer Jim Suptic. "When I listen back to this song and watch the new video for it, my first impression is just how young we were. Some of us were literally teenagers. My voice almost sounds like a totally different person than who I am today. With that said, maybe that is why the album connected with so many people. We were singing about the things everyone struggles with at that age. At its core, Something to Write Home About is a coming of age record."
Mushroomhead Declare 'We Don't Care' With New Single
Mushroomhead will release their ninth studio album, Call The Devil, this Friday, August 9, 2024, via Napalm Records! In celebration of this week's album release and their European tour kickoff, the band has revealed their ultra-dark third single, entitled "We Don't Care". The track proves to be a future live favorite with its chanting chorus and earworm hook!
30 years into their groundbreaking history, Mushroomhead shows no signs of slowing down, proving innovative without losing sight of their trademark sound and imagery.
