Alright Chaos Army…
Some days the show feels like organized chaos in the best way. We jump from science to movie news to strange internet stories and somehow land back on music like nothing happened. That’s the fun of it. Life’s a little unpredictable, and the show kind of mirrors that.
Today’s highlights included naps at work, relationship advice from science, a legendary ‘80s star joining one of TV’s wildest shows, and proof that sometimes the smartest thing you can do during a busy day is pause for a few minutes and reset.
Here’s what crossed the Rock King desk today.
REASONS TO CELEBRATE
National Workplace Napping Day
Today’s holiday is one a lot of people would happily put into practice immediately: National Workplace Napping Day.
Now before your boss starts giving you the side-eye across the office, the idea behind this one is actually pretty reasonable. Short power naps can boost focus, memory, and productivity.
We’re not talking about crawling under your desk with a blanket and disappearing for three hours.
We’re talking about that quick reset.
Ten to twenty minutes.
Just enough to reboot the brain.
Sometimes the smartest move isn’t pushing harder — it’s stepping back long enough to recharge.
So if you catch yourself yawning at work today, just remember… technically the calendar is on your side.
SURVEYS, STUDIES & SUCH
Life gets busy. Work piles up. Kids get sick. Stress stacks up from every direction.
And when that happens, relationships often end up taking the hit.
But new research suggests there’s a surprisingly simple habit that helps couples stay strong during stressful times: reminiscing together.
A study of nearly 600 couples found that partners who regularly talk about good memories, appreciate positive moments in the present, and look forward to future plans show higher confidence in their relationships.
Couples who rarely do this showed declining confidence over time.
The important part? It has to be shared.
Talking.
Laughing.
Remembering together.
Quietly thinking about the good times by yourself doesn’t have the same effect. But when couples actively revisit those memories together, it helps stabilize the relationship when life gets chaotic.
Sometimes the best way forward is remembering where you started.
BIG SCREEN – LITTLE SCREEN
Fans of the hit Showtime series Yellowjackets will see a familiar face joining the final season.
‘80s film icon Molly Ringwald has signed on for a recurring role in Season 4, playing the mother of Van — a character fans have followed closely throughout the series.
The casting fits the show’s long-running tradition of bringing in recognizable stars from the ‘80s and ‘90s, including actors like Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, and Hilary Swank.
Meanwhile, Taylor Sheridan, the creative force behind Yellowstone, is adding “author” to his resume.
His upcoming book is called How to Not Die in Prison, described as a darkly humorous survival guide to life inside a maximum-security prison. Sheridan teamed up with former inmate Tom Nelson to write it, and it’s scheduled to release June 23.
That’s definitely one way to expand the resume.
DID YA KNOW?
The very first alarm clock was far less flexible than the ones we use today.
When it was invented in 1787, it could only ring at one specific time.
4 a.m.
It was built specifically to wake its creator up every morning at that exact time — and there was no way to change it.
Imagine owning an alarm clock that stubborn.
SCOOP OF THE DAY
Tampa International Airport recently stirred up the internet by claiming it wanted to ban pajamas from flights.
The airport posted online that it had reached a “crisis level” of people traveling in sleepwear and suggested turning the airport into a pajama-free zone.
The internet reacted immediately.
But the airport later clarified the post was meant as satire. The social media team often shares playful content to get people talking — and this time it worked.
They even joked about banning Crocs at one point too.
The official stance?
Travel comfortably.
Just maybe don’t show up in full bedtime mode.
MOVIE QUOTE OF THE DAY
“I’m not a smart man… but I know what love is.”
— Forrest Gump, from the film Forrest Gump
Played by Tom Hanks.
Simple line.
Still hits every time.
FUN FACTS FOR YOUR BRAIN
A few random things to make you sound smarter today:
✓ Days during the dinosaur era were about 23 hours long because Earth rotated faster.
✓ Spiders often eat their old webs to recycle the protein.
✓ In the 1500s, black teeth were fashionable because sugar was expensive and associated with wealth.
✓ The word “jaywalker” originally meant a foolish person wandering the street without paying attention.
✓ The Japanese phrase for a shotgun wedding literally translates to “oops, we did it marriage.”
History is full of weird details.
WEIRD NEWS
Cosmetic science continues to find new and unexpected directions.
A procedure called AlloClae is getting attention because it uses sterilized donor fat tissue — taken from human cadavers — to add volume in cosmetic procedures like hip or body contouring.
Doctors say the material is heavily processed, regulated, and has been used safely in certain medical procedures for years. The benefit is that it can add volume without invasive surgery.
Still… the idea of “off-the-shelf fat” definitely takes a second to wrap your head around.
Also, it’s not cheap.
One recent procedure reportedly cost around $45,000.
Beauty trends can get… intense.
QUESTION OF THE DAY
It can be embarrassing if someone catches you doing this, but 76% of people do it every day.
What is it?
Singing in the car.
And honestly, that’s probably the safest place to do it.
GOOD NEWS
An 89-year-old man who had fallen and couldn’t get back up was saved thanks to an unlikely hero — a neighbor’s dog.
The dog heard the man calling for help and started barking persistently until its owner came outside to investigate. That alert led to the man getting the assistance he needed.
Sometimes heroes wear uniforms.
Sometimes they just have four legs and very good hearing.
THINGS I DIDN’T SAY ON AIR
There’s a theme hiding in today’s stories.
Take a nap when you need it.
Remember the good moments with the people you care about.
Keep your mind active.
Laugh at the weird stuff life throws at you.
Life moves fast, and it’s easy to feel like you have to keep pushing nonstop.
But sometimes the smartest move is pausing long enough to recharge… and then getting back at it with a clearer head.
So if today felt a little heavy, remember this:
Progress doesn’t always come from grinding harder.
Sometimes it comes from a 20-minute nap, a good laugh, and remembering the people who make the whole ride worth it.
Until tomorrow,
– Bobby D
